I actually did pretty good on my reading this past month. Buckle up!

When Soul Asylum broke through to the mainstream with Grave Dancers Union in 1992, I was all on-board for the ride. Not just because of "Runaway Train," though. In fact, the album had been out for a year before that song was even released.

You know how I’ve said that the more participation I get in one of my macro posts, the more excited I am? After this past week’s #MiniMoviePosterMonday, I’m practically bouncing off the walls. 

Interesting thing happened recently. Katie got an email in her personal account about her Hulu subscription that included the name Karl in the welcome. 

It really drives me nuts when sellers on eBay can’t be bothered to post clear product photos so you can see the product and its condition...

Last night, I downloaded a 300-page book to my Fire tab. I also downloaded 3 150-page graphic novels and 15 issues of Black Panther comic books. 

It was a little more than 15 years ago that Katie and I, along with my brother and his then soon-to-be-wife (currently his wife), went to Bachelor's Grove Cemetery in Midlothian, IL. It is supposedly one of the most haunted cemeteries in Chicagoland. And we saw... nothing. No ghosts, no orbs, no chills, no ectoplasm... nada.

Much like earlier this month when I had not much worthwhile to say, I'm gonna let YouTube do the talking for me today.

While digging around in a container of old crap, I happened across an ID card from my junior year of high school.

After about a day, during which time I started to lose hope anyone would guess it, I got two correct answers. The first, though, was my sister-in-law. 

Nathan and two of his cousins spent the night last night at my parents’ house. As part of the sleepover fun, this morning, my mom took them to see a movie. 

My vacation request has been approved!!! Just an FYI, I requested to be allowed out of a few days of work here at NIU to go to New Orleans, LA. I'm going down there this May to see my girlfriend's graduation and hang out in my second favorite city!

Hey all, I need a little help. I’m looking for a good app for taking and keeping notes. But I have some caveats. 

This is from two years ago when our pesky neighborhood leprechaun decided to wreak havoc in our bathroom. Nathan was dismayed his trap didn’t catch the little scamp. Never has.

Man, I really don’t do Snippet posts anymore do I? First one this year and the first since last April. Only two in 2020, four in 2019, seven in 2018. I haven’t done this regularly since 2014. Yikes!

We took a drive up to Katie’s parents’ house today. It was our annual birthday lunch for the family (what we were celebrating at PF Chang’s a year ago). 

One of these days, our lives and this world will at least return to some sort of state that is at least marginally reflective of what it was like before, won't it? One that doesn't require Kryptonian intervention?

For one summer, years ago, I worked as a barista at Starbucks. On one of my first days, they had me pulling espresso shots. And I had to drink each one until I knew it was right.

A lot of people are looking back longingly to this date one year ago and the days immediately surrounding it. Why? It was basically the last week before the U.S. went into pandemic lockdown mode. 

TIL. As in Today I Learned. As an internet meme, it refers to you recently learning something for the first time that is common knowledge to almost anyone else. Another way the game is played is to say "I was xx years old when I found out..." and the xx refers to your age now. Meaning that you were completely oblivious to it for your entire life.

Throughout the history of modern music, there have been special pairings of songs that, while perhaps they were meant to be separate entities when initially recorded by the artists, the fans have forever entwined them so that they almost sound strange if played separately.

Yay! Back to challenge photos that elicit a lot of both correct guesses and fun incorrect ones! I like those the best. Well our cousin Stacy was first. 

Seeing that it hit the mid-50s today, we decided to bring down the bicycles for the first day this season and go for a quick ride. We knew it was coming but there was no longer any question, seeing Nathan on his bike, that he was way too big for it and it was time for a new one. 

Well, this was a little bit of good news yesterday in my inbox...

I’ve really got little to nothing original to say today. So I’m gonna hook y’all up with some cool stuff I found on YouTube.

For a handful of years, prior to her death, we would spend some time each winter watching over my brother’s dog, Lilly, while he was in the midst of his heavy travel season for work and his wife would visit allergy-ridden family in California. 

Ugh, February sucked. Snow, sub-zero temps, snow, and more snow. The bad thing was, it never warmed up until the end of the month so all the snow, while not huge amounts during each event, accumulated to 4-6+ foot tall piles that wouldn’t go anywhere except up. Gonna be a messy spring.
