Tonight, Katie and I are doing something we haven’t done much since the pandemic began... watching an original movie made for adults and not kids. 

Wow! I did it! I actually did it! What "it" did I do? I hit my Libroqueue goal for the month, as well as the stretch goal I added in a few days later!

I don't have anything of great consequence to say at the moment, so might I regale you with some Snippets?

As it turns out, I had a husband and wife tagteaming for the answer to last week’s #MiniMoviePosterMonday. Good thing they got it right or I wouldn’t have let them live it down. 

Yes, I've been a homebody for more than a year now. No, I really don't go out much. But, I really should make it a point to remember sunscreen and a hat when I'm going to be outside on a sunny day for four hours. Ouch!

I’m not sure if I’ve ever mentioned this or not but one of my all-time favorite books is Frank Herbert’s Dune. Right now, just the first in the series. I can’t say I was enamored of the only other book I read in the series, Dune Messiah, but the original enthralled me. 

Nathan left just a few minutes ago to spend the night at my parents’ house with his two cousins. My mom came to pick him up before she picks up the two girls and heads home. 

Man, this kid was stylin’ back in the day. It’s all the hat and the ‘tude.

Just gonna experiment with something and see how it works in different browsers, OSs, and all that web QC jazz. The experiment? Placing a Spotify playlist in the sidebar of this blog and seeing how well it works... if at all.

Back in 1989-90, during my freshman year of high school, I bought my first Sony Discman and hooked it up to a cassette boombox I owned to be able to play and collect compact discs for the first time. And while I remember this time well, I can never quite remember which was my first CD... was it The Black Crowes' Shake Your Money Maker or the Red Hot Chili Peppers' Mother's Milk? 

I knew going in last week, that the cover I selected for #MiniMoviePosterMonday may not be guessed correctly, if at all. It's not a particularly popular film despite belonging to a very venerated franchise of films. So, I was not at all surprised that no one got it.

In our backyard, we have a berm that provides a modicum of physical separation between our property and the train tracks that are on the other side. There is no safety fence or sound wall, just the berm. 

It only took me three and a half months, but I finally worked my way through the nine-episode standalone season of WandaVision on Disney+.

Korean Dalgona (whipped) coffee has been making the rounds online during this pandemic. It's a simple recipe wherein you whip together equal parts instant coffee, sugar, and hot water (usually like 1 tablespoon of each) until it is all dissolved and is creating very firm peaks almost like a pre-meringue.

There’s a little HVAC place a couple towns south of us that always has really cute signs out front. Sometimes inspiring, sometimes insightful, often humorous. I love driving by the place to see what’s up.

I had to run to my accountant’s office today to pick up my tax forms. It was a chance to get out of the house for a bit and lord knows I needed it. 

I realized something the other day as I was listening to Corbin Reiff's book Total F*cking Godhead: The Biography of Chris Cornell, I think music memoirs and biographies might just be my favorite genre of book.

I think my old friend Stacy is starting to find her stride with #MiniMoviePosterMonday. I think she’s gotten at least two or three in the short time I’ve been doing this. 

I’ll be the first to admit I’m not a great videographer. They’re not particularly creative or unique from one to the next. 

By the time I turned three, I was pretty fully immersed in all things Star Wars. It was my life. 

I got this idea from Dave2 who got it from a bunch of people on Bookface. Basically you take a photo of some scar you have and tell the story behind it. 

Right now, I’m drooling over this phôto (ha!) I took at a restaurant three years ago. 

Awwwww, yeah, boyyyeeeeeeeeezzzz! The details and release list for the first two days of Record Store Days 2021 were released today! Of course, as you'd expect, there are a metric ton of records coming out. Re-releases, exclusive releases, etc. To those, I say "MEH!"

Y'all know what a "deep fake" is, right? When AI is used to create photos or video or audio content that is so real that it's almost impossible to question its authenticity. Sometimes it's used for nefarious purposes like making it seem as though a political candidate has said or done something they haven't. 

Okay, I admit it may seem like a bit of nitpicking to make sure you, as a contestant in #MiniMoviePosterMonday (or any of my macro challenges, for that matter), put the full title of the movie in your guess. But it really is not.

Took Friday off to spend with Nathan. Saturday was a day off for Katie and so we all spent it together. Sunday was Easter and we did family stuff. 

I tried. I really and truly tried to get into Lauren Oyler’s Fake Accounts. Honestly! I did!

It's fun to watch Nathan's tastes evolve in terms of pop culture and pop media and whatnot. I've noted for you before how he's getting into hard rock music at eight years old. That's still going strong.

Another month come and gone. That’s 1/4 of the year done already. Wow! And that's no April Fools!
