Apr '21...
Hey world! Will ya slow down already? You're spinning a little out of control. But, hey, my goals are on target!
1. Music Play: Here's a motley mix of music for ya!
Lunar Satan - Lunar Satan
Described as “moon metal,” I get a little bit of a 90s TOOL vibe when I listen to it. It’s not bad but I have to be in the right mood for it, for sure.
Nightlights - The Lost Girl (The Album)
This electro synth soundtrack to an animated film that never existed would make a really great accompaniment piece should that film ever actually be made. I like this a lot.
LukHash - We Are Stardust
I love a good high-tempo darkwave sound that features an occasional searing electric guitar solo. Not nearly enough of that in this world.
Arooj Aftab - Vulture Prince
Wow! Pakistani composer Arooj Aftab really blew my socks off with this new album. Full of brooding piano and string instruments and brought to life with her mix of Urdu and English vocals, this is one to just sit back and allow to sweep over your soul.
2. Camera Play: #MiniMoviePosterMonday is still going.
3. Word Play: I am well ahead of schedule when it comes to hitting my annual reading goal! And here I thought I was going to fall behind a bit.
More details and the list of books I plan to read in May can be found in my latest Libroqueue post.
4. Fitness Play: I decided to finally do something about working out and am making a conscious effort, now that Nathan’s in school full time, to go out at lunch. Walk. Bike ride. Whatevs. Something. Anything. I managed to do that 18 times through the month.
5. Update Play: Done!
Let's see if I can keep up this pace in May.
