Okay, so last week’s #MiniMoviePosterMonday wasn’t without a little hiccup. As I stated, I wanted to end Christa’s winning streak, which was at three.

Yeah, so I kinda knocked it outta the park in May with my reading. Dangerously so. I jacked the bar so high that I’ll never be able to keep pace in June.

Over the last half year, we’ve gotten new neighbors on both sides of us and, while we’ve met them, our time spent with them has been zero otherwise. They’ve all been rather hermit-like.

How many times has it happened to you that you’ve heard rave reviews, be they of music or TV shows or movies or books, and you just kept hearing more and more to the point where, when you finally get around to experiencing it yourself, it just sucks rocks?

Has anyone else on Instagram ever had it happen where they take all kinds of time composing a photo to post, then you post some random repost or screen capture that takes zero effort, and what do you think happens? The crap repost gets more likes than the shot I actually cared about. Without fail. Only me? 

For the last several weeks, I’ve been making it a point to go out nearly daily for walks or bike rides.

There was a time when we could get dozens of photos of Nathan in a single session. Then he started moving and didn’t stop. Or, if he does stop, he doesn’t give us a photo friendly face.

Has anyone else noticed that you can no longer actually take photos within the Instagram app anymore?

Last year, as part of my reading goal, I read volume 1 of a graphic novel series called Sweet Tooth written and drawn by my comic hero Jeff Lemire. 

I was scrolling through my Photos app and found this little gem of Nathan on one of my last days at work with the City of Naperville in 2017. 

Sometimes after reading a book, I’m not always immediately compelled to write a review on Goodreads. In some cases, it’s because I’m in a rush and just don’t have the time. In others, it’s because I need to consider the book a bit more before offering up my thoughts on it.

I’ve been aware of Kombucha tea and have wanted to try it for some time. However, because of the price of individual bottles and a lack of desire to buy a large pack of them, I held off actually doing it. 

Christa B. got last week’s #MiniMoviePosterMonday with Inglourious Basterds. Great film. I love it insanely.

Today is World Whisky Day. And I missed it.

I was flipping through old Instagram images and found this image from a book signing with Erik Larson, the author of Devil and the White City.

Kim posted today about her unused sticker collection asking what others do with stickers they may have laying around. I responded in her comments, but also mentioned that I'd post photos of how I use them. So here goes...

Hey, I've got a couple questions for you all that I'm seeking insight on. While they are parenting related, it's kinda tangential and, honestly, they can be answered by anyone. So take a look and leave a reply in the comments.

For a second week, although this time husband-less, Christa (@toosneezy on IG) identified the #MiniMoviePosterMonday challenge photo correctly. This time, it was Hot Fuzz, a movie I have not seen in far too long. Time to remedy that.

I feel like the world is trying to tell Katie and me something since we both received the same fortune in our fortune cookies last night. 

When it comes to electronic asset checkout from my library, they offer two different apps for this purpose... they are Overdrive and Hoopla. 

While listening through a playlist full of Chris Cornell-related music, I started really getting into the Soundgarden track "Outshined." So into it, in fact, that I wouldn't be surprised if there are videos on the web somewhere featuring that "crazy, bald guy headbanging and dancing in the local coffee shop" or "someone cancel this boomer NAOW!" (although I'm not a boomer, FTR).

Apparently May 2011 was rife with food and drink throwbacks and I indulged in a couple.

Tonight, due to a lack of stuff to watch and the regular TV season coming close to wrapping up, Katie and I decided to go back and rewatch J.J. Abrams' breakthrough series Felicity with Keri Russell, Scott Foley, and Scott Speedman.

Yesterday, I finished watching all six episodes of the first season of Disney+ and the MCU’s The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. I thought it was fantastic and loved nearly everything about it. 

If my recollection is any good at all (I highly doubt it is), then we have a new winner on last week’s #MiniMoviePosterMonday challenge photo with Holly correctly guessing The Italian Job (2003).

My copy of Kill or be Killed, the Deluxe Edition came in at the library on Friday. When the librarian brought it out from the holds area, my jaw nearly hit the floor.
