It's a new dawn... It's a new day... It's a new life... For me... And I'm feeling good... I'm feeling good.
While I thank Mr. Bublé for the lyrics and I have yet to expound upon the meaning of those lyrics, let's first recap last month's goals.
1. Music Play: I think this is the first month in a while where a Bandcamp binge didn't make up for my goal in a single day. Not to say I wasn't listening on Bandcamp, but I just didn't binge like I have been. Here's the new stuff I did listen to. It's possible there was more, but not likely.
Curtis Harding - Soul Power and Face Your Fear
I said it all in another post.
Hazel English - California Dreaming and Wake UP!
The first is a single featuring Hazel’s very true-to-source cover of The Mamas & the Papas’ “California Dreaming.” I like it. A lot. So that led me to check out her studio album Wake UP! released in 2020, which, from start to finish, blew my mind. Dreamy pop vocals completely inundated with reverb. I love it!
The Linda Lindas - The Linda Lindas EP
The young quartet have a really good punk aesthetic reminiscent of early The Go-Go’s before they went Top 40.
2. Camera Play: #MiniMoviePosterMonday is still going.
3. Word Play: Oh my gawd. May was bonkers! 14 books ahead of schedule?? I don't plan to do it again, for sanity's sake.
More details and the list of books I plan to read in June can be found in my latest Libroqueue post.
4. Fitness Play: I did fitness-related movement 22 times in May. This, like my reading, will likely slow down a bit in June, though. I am proud of this achievement.
5. Update Play: Done!
Bring it on, June!
