Tu(n)esday: Larnell...

I've never been a drummer. Not once. I severely lack the timing and coordination to do it right and I accepted that fact a LONG freaking time ago.

It's for this very reason that I respect the hell out of drummers. It doesn't matter what genre of music they play, if they're good, I love it. And I almost always air drum along with it. If you can make me willingly look like an ass by pretending to beat the hell out of imaginary animal skins, then you're really good.

Yesterday, I happened across a guy on YouTube named Larnell Lewis who is, apparently, a really good drummer. And he plays all kinds of musical genres. But, to top that off, he has some videos in which he's challenged by his buddy Dave to listen to a song for the very first time and then play the drum part after hearing it only once.

Okay, admittedly, you can question the veracity of the claim that he's never heard or played it before. I mean, people lie online (and in real life) all the time. But I'm choosing to believe Mr. Lewis and enjoy the heck out of this video for the genius that it is.

In this video, he plays Metallica's classic "Enter Sandman" via the Drumeo channel...

How cool was that?

And, hey, if you've got another 20 minutes to spare, check out this reaction video by BryanForce Drums...

Love, LOVE, LOVE it! All of it.

That was tasty!

Despite giving up daily blogging, I was actually doing pretty good through October posting semi-regularly. Then November happened. Let's just pretend it didn't. Suffice it to say, I have only one post between the last Macro Monday and this one....

A co-worker shared this video with me and... I have no words. So, so beautiful! I want!
