Tu(n)esday: Spotless…
It was kinda funny reading posts from everyone freaking out that Spotify (and Discord) was down most of today leaving people without a key source of streaming music and podcasts.
Me? I just grabbed my Walkman and a stack of tapes, hooked it up to my JBL speaker, and went to town.
I had a pretty decent lineup to listen to as well…
Clockwise from top left: Jeff Rosenstock NO DREAM, Soundgarden Superunknown, Bob Dylan Blood on the Tracks, Cryptophaser XXII, Soundgarden Screaming Life/Fopp, and Deadsurf Surf Sludge.
I’m tellin’ y’all, should a grid-killing apocalypse strike, all I need is a bunch of AA batteries and I’m good to go. Even you vinyl freaks got nuthin’ on me.
Also of note musically (see what I did there?), I received an email from Graveface Records via Bandcamp (which was not down today) advertising a new album from Valley Gals called Snake Oil Salesman and it is sooooooo good.
It’s got a strong punk rock + 60s fuzz rock vibe, the latter akin to White Zombie, but with a less industrial sound. I also love frontwoman Miranda Wiley’s voice. I haz happeez.
Give it a listen.
