Oh. My. God. I just watched one of the coolest and most fun movies I've seen in a long time, the killer android film M3GAN starring Allison Williams and Violet McGraw.
A week or so ago, as part of our house purge, Katie and I were going through an old drawer of photos, greeting cards, and memorabilia from our vacations. Oddly enough, I found a scrap of paper amongst all the stuff with some of my handwriting on it in the form of poems.
Nathan, being the YouTube Rat that he is, has come across videos of “Takis Challenges” several times. He wanted to try it.
It's time for batch 3 of Jay-Mike-Fred: A Horror Compendium film reviews. I'm trying to keep up with the reviews, but I've been watching a lot of films lately. It's kinda crazy, TBH. Let's get started, shall we? Oh, and if you want to see the overall ranking of these films, go to the Rankings page.

Remember back in September when I whined like a baby about my 43-game Waffle win streak coming to an end? Well imagine my disdain now that my current 116-game streak came crashing to an end by a mere single play.
The other day, after Nathan and I solved a run of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles in Time on the Switch (via the TMNT Cowabunga Edition), I took it upon myself to finally play Spiritfarer, a game that Katie and Nathan bought for me for my birthday… in 2021.

I have something I must admit. I'm not very proud of this. But I reported it to the authorities as soon as I found it and I am cooperating fully. Yes, you guessed it... I found classified White House documents in my garage.

This is so beyond incredible. Beyond beyond.
One of the coolest things about toy photography is trying to make do without having too much in the way of sets or dioramas or whatnot. One of the easiest ways to accomplish this is to scour the web for hi-res photography that can be used on the background of your computer behind the subject of your photo.

Katie and I were cleaning up in the garage early this afternoon and put the door down after loading up some donations into her car. That’s when we heard the SNAP!
I just finished watching Wes Craven’s New Nightmare, the seventh installment in the A Nightmare on Elm Street series, and I happened to see this in the end credits…

I was discovering, while digging through our DVR for something to watch tonight, that a lot of our normal broadcast network shows seem to be running abbreviated seasons. And it's not just one network.

These videos of nine-year-old Maya Neelakantan shredding to both riffs and solos by TOOL guitarist Adam Jones as well as a video of her receiving a signed custom Gibson Les Paul from Jones himself just makes me so happy.
Some people are looking forward to the new Avatar movie this year. Some want the new Ant-Man & Wasp: Quantumania. Yet others want Wonka, The Little Mermaid, John Wick 4, Dune 2, Indiana Jones 5, The Super Mario Bros, or any number of other films.
Do you miss Macro Monday?
Nathan has learned about Rickrolling.
I swear I watch way too many horror movies to ever want to own a basement.

In celebration of the last three Friday the 13ths, I’ve run a personal toy photography challenge wherein I use a Jason Voorhees toy of some sort in a series of photos for the Monday thru Friday leading up to the 13th.
In the last year, I’ve found myself rewatching some of those tripped out 80s kids/teen fantasy/sci-fi movies. Why? To see if they’re really as weird as I remember them being. Or, if they were movies I’d never seen, to figure out if my rationale for not seeing them was spot on or not.
Wanna make the teller at your local bank smile, maybe even giggle a little bit?

I had to buy a new multi-plug adapter today to replace one that I’ve had for years. The one I replaced was an Apple branded product which, of course, means that a new one would be pricey.
Bad dates…
Jack Ryan, season 3, is finally here!
Tickets have been acquired for the Saturday of C2E2! We cannot wait! And Katie will be attending with us this year!
That’s one week down in 2023 and 51 to go.
I'm going to be honest with y'all here... I have no desire to tweak my goals as I set them last year. Well, save for my reading goal which I've bumped up to 60 books for the year from 48, equating to 5 books per month. Oh, and I'm definitely not doing that Anne Rice goal anymore. It's dead. Just like her main characters.

Dammit, UPS!! When is my package arriving???? I know this says by 9 p.m. tonight, but as each minute wears on, I feel less and less confident this is actually going to happen today.
On NYD, we did some work on Nathan’s bedroom. Yesterday, we started work on our bedroom beginning with a purge.
Bye-bye, 2022! Maybe we’ll miss you, maybe we won’t. I guess it all depends on how 2023 goes. Stay tuned.
That would be “Happy New Year” in Swedish because what better way to spend New Year’s Day than IKEA-fying Nathan’s bedroom a bit.
