Have you ever watched a film and the whole time you’re just sitting there asking yourself, “What the hell am I watching?” And you know it’s not quite “bad” yet but your hopes are quickly being dashed. However, you just can’t turn it off.

That’s me right now with this film Skinamarink.

Heres the write up from IMDb… “Two children wake up in the middle of the night to find their father is missing, and all the windows and doors in their home have vanished.”

It’s dark, it’s very atmospheric, and it’s just damned confusing.

I can barely see what’s going on because it’s shot like found footage using a Handicam or VHS camcorder, circa 1995.

But the video quality reeks of something closer to 1975.

I’ll check back in later with my final take. Did I finish or give up in frustration? Enquiring minds want to know!
