There is absolutely zero consistency to my reading habits. One month I frontload it, the next it’s backloaded, and this month was so spread thin that I wasn’t sure anything would get done. But I managed a few.

I saw this on the racks at my LCS. I can’t explain why, but the combination of the cover art, the title, and the writer (James Tynion IV) made this a must-buy for me.

I am so disturbed right now.

I was trying to snap a photo of the smog that had settled on the Chicagoland area as a result of the wildfires up in Canadia.

I saw this inside a food package and I really dug it.

Let’s be honest here… there is no writer in Hollywood that could’ve scripted an episode of This Week in Russia better than the one we’re living right now.

All I can say is… IYKYK… and you will scream like a little girl just like I did. Katie likes these as much as I do. 

Just in time for the 25th anniversary of the original drop of these hairy little monsters, Hasbro Toys has announced that they're reviving Furbys.

Guess what... my blog can legally vote as of today! Yup, I've been on the Typepad platform for 18 years now since after making the choice to ditch my manually-coded HTML weblog that I'd been running since 1998 (the contents of which I migrated here about a decade or so ago).

My buddy Abe shared a video with me yesterday featuring a mashup between KISS; Earth, Wind & Fire; and Wild Cherry and it was... glorious.

I’m gonna be honest and say that I wasn’t really looking forward to the idea of a Marvel movie dedicated to the fringe character Kraven the Hunter. Didn’t appeal to me in the slightest.

I know where I was 40 years ago today. Can you say the same thing for yourself?

I’m not typically an Adam Driver fan. I don’t dislike him, I just don’t really have much of an opinion on him. He’s just… him.

TIL that Las Vegas has a minor league baseball team called the Las Vegas Aviators. I learned this when I was doing a deep dive into the proposed move of the Oakland Athletics to Las Vegas. While their new stadium is being built on the site of the Tropicana Hotel overlooking the strip, the A's would share a stadium with their minor league affiliate.

After going to see The Little Mermaid tonight, we walked out into a rain storm. I looked down on the ground and saw this in a puddle.

I don’t always agree with politicians. Oh, who am I kidding, I rarely do. Especially in the last 10 years. But when I do agree, I agree wholeheartedly.

Nathan signed up for a beginner’s Dungeons & Dragons class through our park district and it was held today. The plan was to drop him off and then Katie and I go work out for a while (we signed up for the gym finally).

Wow! When you don’t have beer for a while (it’s probably been a couple months for me), it really does not taste good on that first sip. Especially when you kick it off with a double IPA. 

Katie and I like to take fruit and veggie scraps and throw them in the backyard from whatever little furry hooligans are brave enough o venture out to snack on them.

Since arriving back home from vacation back on May 29th, I have not had a single soda. It wasn’t a conscious decision I made. I just didn’t want any.

So you know how Katie and Nathan have gone on trips with me and my company for our annual in-person meetings for the last three summers?

I can’t believe I didn't shared this in one of my earlier vacation photo posts. It was the time when Nathan was chosen by a great wizard to receive his first wand at Ollivander’s Wand Shop at Harry Potter World in Universal Studios Hollywood.

Nothing quite like a vacation to make you feel like you skipped half the month!
