David…
While perusing Max – the streaming service, not some random dude – last night, I saw a featured title that piqued my curiosity… David Holmes: The Boy Who Lived.
I couldn’t explain why, having never heard of the film or the title character, but I clicked in to read the synopsis. Turns out it’s about a stunt man who doubled for Daniel Radcliffe/Harry Potter on all eight films. There was an accident on the set of The Deathly Hallows that left David paralyzed from the chest down. And this is his story.
It’s amazing. This guy has not had an easy life in the 14 years since the filming of Hallows and he’s trooped through it with an inspired resilience.
If you have the opportunity to watch it, I highly recommend it. Sure, it plays for emotions, but I enjoyed it a lot.
