I got an email “reminder” from Nathan’s school that tomorrow he has a half day and the day after he has a fullday off.
After getting snow in the second half of last week, a mere five days later, it’s 72°F outside and I’m wearing shorts.
Nathan just took a Which Ghostface Are You quiz (link unavailable) that asks totally random and unrelated questions and spits back at you which of the, so far, 12 killers that have donned Ghostface’s mask in the saga you are.

Today, I saw Bob Marley: One Love, the biopic about the reggae legend. I’ve always liked Marley’s music and was really gonzo about it my sophomore year of college.
This winter has been weird. We got some snow back in November that seemed to bode well for potentially having at least a moderately snowy winter. But then nothing until January when we got hammered with six inches over two nights. And then nothing again.
Last night, Nathan had his first band concert of the year and it was a doozy!
It’s amazing how crippled we as humans become when we have a cellular outage.
I was shaving my head this morning using a brand new blade and something happened that hasn’t happened in about 15 years… I tore a scrap of skin off my head.

I’ve been listening to Did I Ever Tell You This?, a memoir by Sam Neill, the actor behind Dr. Alan Grant from Jurassic Park and Cpt. Borodin from The Hunt for Red October, two of my all-time favorite movies.
First, it’s the Mighty Con-sponsored DuPage Comic Con on March 2.
Just when you think kids don’t pay attention to things, they blow your mind with some random thing proving that they probably pay attention at a totally different level than us oldies do.
I’m dedicating this post to the love of my life, Katie, as today is her birthday. Not gonna say which as I enjoy breathing. We’ll call it a random anniversary of her 25th birthday. That should do just fine.

Heartbreak on Valentine’s Day! is what the media outlet headlines would read right now if I were in charge! Why? Because one of my favorite pairs of jeans has gone… holey!!
Happy Mardi Gras, y’all! With today comes two things (if you’re not in New Orleans proper)… pączki and the fact that tomorrow is the first day of Lent.
Wow, CNN. For shame. This is why EVERY news and media organization needs to have a team of proofreaders on staff and pay them well…
With its official prediction of “RED TEAM,” Henrietta the Prehistoric Rooster is now 1-0 on calling sports games.
New puzzle, folks! The 90s!

How is it the first third of the month of February, historically the coldest month of the year in Chicagoland, yet we have no snow on the ground save some blackened dredge piles, it’s 56°F, and we’re predicted to have rain as well as thunderstorms, hail, and even a random tornado today.
You’ve gotta understand one thing… Nathan hates E.T. The Extra Terrestrial. Hates. He was freaked out by the character the first and only time he saw the movie with us and has since refused to watch it again. Flat out refuses.
This could be interesting. Katie just made herself a cup of hot chocolate using our Keurig maker and I’m fairly certain she didn’t remove my reusable coffee pod.
Have you seen this supposedly unaffiliated yet likely affiliated advertising campaign for CeraVe, er, Michael CeraVe skin cream? I am just in shock at how equally funny and creepy it is.
So not only am I required to do jury duty, but they send me a survey along with my summons on which I have to pay postage to send it back??
I’ve been going down a rabbit hole of NPR Tiny Desk concerts lately and I love them. After a while of just listening to the occasional concert, today I decided to just start playing them straight through.
Today, while going to our niece’s birthday party, Katie and I tuned in to our first episode of New Heights, the podcast cohosted by NFL brothers Travis and Jason Kelce.

Already a month has breezed by! Dang. We are now into the month of Katie! How did I do leading into it? Let’s see, shall we?
