C2E2 ‘24…
This coming Saturday marks our triumphant return to C2E2! Well, it will be more like our 2022 trip than our 2023 one.
My BiL, SiL, and niece won’t be there due to prior commitments and Katie won’t be going because she’d rather just let Nathan and I run wild than have to keep up with us and not have the SiL to talk to.
We’re going. Because we like it. Nate will be dressed up as Marty McFly since there’s a chance we might see Christopher “Doc Brown” Lloyd there. He’s signing but charging something like $130 so, which is ridiculous. So we’re going to do a walk by and have Nate shout out a line from the film and see what happens.
I’m debating between my uber-popular Doctor Who/Hermione Granger mashup shirt “The Witch in the Fireplace” (it always gets a lot of comments)
or my Dani Rojas “Fútbol is Life” shirt as actor Christo Fernandez will also be in attendance.
What sucks, though, is that Nate recently started researching appearances by actors in the Halloween and Scream film franchises and found a metric ton of them (at least Scream cast) are going to be at something called Fan Expo Chicago in August and now he’s all gung-ho about going to that. I think he’s even more excited about that than C2E2.
This would mean having to buy tickets for yet another fest, which I really do not want to do. If I’d known this two months ago, I wouldn’t have bought tickets for this weekend and just waited until Fan Expo Chicago tickets became available. We’re talking Matthew Lillard, Skeet Ulrich, Rose McGowan, Laurie Metcalf, Lee Waddell, Jamie Kennedy, and who knows who else will be added. Kiddo is jazzed!
Doesn’t hurt that one of my all-time favorite actors, Michael Biehn (Aliens, The Abyss, The Terminator, and the venerated Tombstone), will be there. Also Marisa Tomei, William Shatner, Alan Tudyk, Charlie Cox, Morena Baccarin, Linda Hamilton, Robert Patrick, Lance Henriksen, Vincent D’onofrio, Sean Gunn, Edward Furlong, Mario Lopez, Shannen Doherty, Holly-Marie Combs, and Johnny Yong Bosch, as well as Star Wars actors Eman Esfandi (Ezra Bridger from Ahsoka) and Cameron Monaghan (Cal Kestis).
Geez, now I’m excited!
Anyone wanna play sugar daddy to two geeks?
