Gamecocks…

Like I said, I was totally into the whole Caitlin Clark phenomenon at the NCAA women’s basketball tournament and tonight was the final game between her and her Iowa Hawkeyes against the South Carolina Gamecocks.

Alas, when the final buzzer sounded, the Gamecocks emerged triumphant. And they deserved it. Coach Dawn Staley and her team beat the tar out of everyone they played this past season. They were the only undefeated team, period. Last season, they lost one game! The year before, they lost two. Over the course of three seasons, her women were 109-3!

Yeah, SC deserved it. They earned it. They worked for it. They owned it.

Sorry, Caitlin. You’re a force to be reckoned with, for sure. And you’re gonna have huge success at the pro level. But South Carolina just rocked a bit harder.

This was fun. I’m gonna have to watch more. Chicago Sky? Here I come.
