Star Wars Day yesterday… Cinco de Mayo today… it’s a good weekend!

While flipping through the headlines this morning, I found this gem from CNN all about ridiculous questions they get asked about Cinco de Mayo.

Despite knowing far better on 95% of them, I’m going to admit that I really did always think that Cinco de Mayo was Mexico’s Independence Day from Spain. For oh-so-many years. I think it was even taught to me that way in Spanish classes in high school and college.

Public education… you have failed me again!

Well, enjoy your celebration of the victory in the Battle of Pueblo all the same.
