While flipping through the headlines this morning, I found this gem from CNN all about ridiculous questions they get asked about Cinco de Mayo.

Despite knowing far better on 95% of them, I’m going to admit that I really did always think that Cinco de Mayo was Mexico’s Independence Day from Spain. For oh-so-many years. I think it was even taught to me that way in Spanish classes in high school and college.

Public education… you have failed me again!
