Dockhounds…

Yesterday, the three of us went to the Eras Night (Cougars Edition) at Northwestern Medicine Field. No, it was not a Taylor Swift concert. But it was a Taylor Swift-themed night at the ballpark of our local minor league baseball team, the Kane County Cougars.

It was a lot of fun and we managed to nab a couple commemorative t-shirts (actually the literal final two shirts), but we didn’t win Eras Tour tickets… the grand prize.

The Cougars’ opponent in that game was the Lake Country Dockhounds.

The first time their name was announced, I heard “Rock something.” Then I thought they said “Rockhounds.” I was fine with either.

Turns out it was “Dockhounds.” When you read that, it’s not so bad. But try saying it out loud and tell me it doesn’t sound like you’re saying “Dachau,” otherwise known as the infamous Nazi Concentration Camp.

Very unfortunate aural association, eh?
