So there’s a MLB catcher named Danny Jansen who was recently traded from the Toronto Blue Jays to the Boston Red Sox. What’s really cool is that this dude is about to become the first MLB player to play for both teams in the same game.

Nate and I went to the Chicago Toy Show at the Kane County Fairgrounds near our house today for their summer show. It was our first time attending the summer edition as we prefer the weather in the spring and fall, but we had C2E2 in the spring and we will likely miss fall for other reasons.
Can anyone explain to me why adult toothpaste flavors suck rocks? Maybe it’s just me because my dentist has me using sensitive formulas like Sensodyne.
Vudu, the service that sells digital copies of TV and movies, gets it right on so many things.
Katie decided to kick me out of the house after dinner tonight to let me see Twisters since she and the SiL saw it last night. I did go out, but decided to check out A Quiet Place: Day One while it still had showings on the big screen.
Apparently at some point in the past, I signed up for Universal All-Access Rewards. It likely happened when registering for a free digital copy of a movie.

President Joe Biden stepping back from a re-election bid should come as no surprise. Given his age and his issues with live speaking, nope, no surprise.
I’ve decided that, since I broke my Sodabriety earlier this month, I’m not going to go back and give it up cold turkey again.
But I’m also not going hog wild drinking it.
Not sure how many of you follow my toy photography, but every month that we have a Friday the 13th (at least for the last two or so years), I’ve run an event called “A Week of Victims.”

My favorite band, Japandroids, which has been on hiatus since around 2018, just announced their new album, Fate & Alcohol, will be released on October 18, 2024. They dropped the first single as well, “Chicago,” a title I wholly approve.

I seriously want to know exactly what Northern Illinois did to piss off whatever deities are out there.
Lotta shit in the news the last 24 hours. A ton of noise that will just get noisier and I want to tune it out. I know I can’t but I will try.
I swear that the three of us have gone to the theaters more often this year for Flashback Cinema presentations than new movies easily by a 3:1 ratio.

So am I expected to wear the tactical armor above or below my sequined gown while BBQing with my new free garden tool.
Being July 11, today was 7-Eleven Slurpee Day! Did you go get your free Slurpee? What kind did you get?
While I’m still upset that Five Below (and just about every major retailer save Amazon) seems to have ditched out on Tapatío flavored Doritos, at least I can say that I found these.
So this is happening.
Did you know that sometimes, on iOS and iPadOS, when you delete an app, you don’t always delete an app? It’s still there. Or maybe this is just for me.
We went to the pool today. It was a brief visit due to storms that decided to come crashing through from out of nowhere. But it was almost briefer for me.
Another dusk shot I took for kicks just to see how it would turn out. This is from Alice’s Place, an ice cream shoppe in Elburn, IL, out west of us.
Today, my son asked me, “Dad, I was watching a YouTube video where someone’s dad was trying to say all the sayings that my generation says.”

We were looking into times to go see Despicable Me 4 tomorrow on the Flixster app and Katie noticed a pretty cool thing when you click through to the seating chart to see how many tickets have sold.
And half the year has flown by like it was nothing. Nothing at all.
