Quiet…

Katie decided to kick me out of the house after dinner tonight to let me see Twisters since she and the SiL saw it last night. I did go out, but decided to check out A Quiet Place: Day One while it still had showings on the big screen.

A little history… I saw the original film in the series starring John Krasinski and Emily Blunt but I don’t really remember much about it and I haven’t seen the sequel. But I heard this can be treated as a standalone so I’m testing that theory.

And?

Ohmigod it was FANTASTIC! This was as close to a perfect film as I’ve seen in a long time! Incredible story, great visuals, amazing direction, and the acting… oh, the acting!

Lupita Nyong’o is perfection! I loved everything about her character and how she played it. I felt every emotion she played on screen to my core.

Joseph Quinn (Eddie Munson in Stranger Things 4) is no joke. He could easily have been a one-trick pony with his ST4 stint but he’s not. Loved him and empathized with all his anxiety and pain.

I’ve got my top film of the year so far. Gonna be a tough one to beat.

I still have yet to watch the original Quiet Place movie. I should really do that. (looks at ever growing list of things to watch, adds yet one more thing)

You do NOT need to watch the originals for this one to make sense. You get all you need in Day One. And it’s worth it! Big screen, man!

This movie was fantastic. I saw it today with a friend. Really enjoyed it. So good. And worth it on the big screen.

It totally benefits from the big screen viewing!
