Show…

Nate and I went to the Chicago Toy Show at the Kane County Fairgrounds near our house today for their summer show. It was our first time attending the summer edition as we prefer the weather in the spring and fall, but we had C2E2 in the spring and we will likely miss fall for other reasons.

Nate and I had an idea what we each wanted, so we told ourselves we’d stick to those goals as much as possible to limit spending on “unnecessaries.”

Well, that all kinda went to hell in a handbasket primarily because neither of us found any of what we were wanting. So, by the time we neared the end, we had discovered other things so we fixed ourselves on a budget for the unplanned things and went to it.

Nate got three Funko POPs and only spent $19. I wound up with three Star Wars figures (a line I wasn’t shopping for at all) and only spent $11.

(from top, Black Series BB-8 from The Force Awakens, Galactic Heroes Nexu from Attack of the Clones, and Black Series Han Solo from The Empire Strikes Back)

Honestly, given that we spent $10 to get into the show, what we got was almost hardly worth the cost of entry, but we’re both happy. I guess that’s all that matters.

See you in 2025, Chicago Toy Show… the last year that Nate can enter for free.
