“With this election, our nation has a precious, fleeting opportunity to move past the bitterness, cynicism and divisive battles of the past. A chance to chart a new way forward, not as members of any one party or faction, but as Americans,” Democratic Party Presidential Nominee Kamala Harris said during her speech at the DNC yesterday.

It sounds great. I’d love to believe it. But politics in this country have made me nothing but cynical.

She has my vote only because I will never ever ever vote for what the Republican party stands behind, but she will have to earn my respect and trust.

But seriously, can you cut down the campaign donation email requests? I get no less than a half dozen each and every freaking day.

I get more text messages asking for money than emails. Once you donate to one candidate (Mark Kelly a couple years ago) they share you information with every other candidate. Type STOP is a multiple times a week thing.

Yeah, I remember how many times I had to text STOP for those back a handful of years ago. Such a headache. But the sad thing is that their selling and constant contact of us is not deemed illegal since we contributed. So they can’t be brought up on harassment claims. And not that I’d want to since it’s a candidate I back. Just be smarter about contribution requests.
