Lenny…
I read an article about last night’s MTV Video Music Awards that lauded Lenny Kravitz performance of a three-song medley so I looked up the video on YouTube.
Unsurprisingly, because Mr. Kravitz is a killer performer whom I’ve had the privilege of seeing play live many moons ago, this appearance was out of this world. Check it out…
I was unfamiliar with the second song in the medley, titled “Human,” and the article said it was from his latest album, so I popped open Spotify to look it up.
(and this is where things get weird.)
Spotify was queued up to the final song in that medley, which was a re-recorded duet with Quavo and it had played through 37 seconds of it. The app even labeled it a “recommended song.”
Spotify was not open on my phone. Not even in the background. It was hard shutdown and hadn’t been used by me in days.
What kind of app integration voodoo is going on here? Admittedly it was handy that it was partway to finding what I was intending to look for (right artist, wrong song), but WTF???
