Cherry…
Since I started this Colantrol period of my life, I have had a few sodas here and there. I’d estimate that, since July when I broke my overall Sodabriety, I’ve had a half dozen sodas, tops. Mostly Coke and Sprite, which are what we tend to have in the house.
But, this past weekend, I discovered a nasty little side effect of having been off soda for those 14 months. A side effect very akin to when I gave up all meat for four months to bring my cholesterol down. I can’t stomach Cherry Coke at all.
Once a staple of my soda-loving life, Cherry Coke was a fave for many years. I had a fountain one at a movie theater this past weekend and I wound up with the worst case of gut rot. I felt like crap. And the Cherry Coke is the only explanation for it.
I suppose Colantrol will just be that much simpler removing cherry flavored soda from the mix. I wonder how I’ll do with other heavily flavored sodas like Dr. Pepper.
The reduction of soda is a positive thing. I rarely have any in the house, but recently bought a 6 pack of Coke Zero for $2.99.
Hoping that Dr Pepper will be good to you.
