Lost…

I wrote a post. I posted a post. I re-opened the post to copy & paste the post to create another similar post.

But I never copied and pasted the post into a new post. I overwrote the old post and set it as a draft post which unpublished the original post and made it not exist as a post…

…my head is hurty.

I tried to recover the post using a post history function in my host. But that offered at most old copies of other posts even though I was in the editor of the post I wanted to re-post…

…may you roast, Typepad.

I went to the post in a browser in hopes the post was cached. I clicked in the post teaser and got a 404 error that the post was no longer a real post but was now a ghost post…

…lost to the ether.

I went into my RSS aggregator of everyone else’s posts I read. Thankfully I subscribe to my own posts because I’m paranoid about my feed working and posting about my posts for my three readers at most…

…the post was there!

I copied and pasted the post from the aggregated post and pasted the post into my editor and cleaned up the code of the post and found the original images from the post in my iPhone trash bin…

…thank god for 30 day delays.

I recovered the images and posted them in the post and republished the post and now the post is no longer a ghost but will show as a double post in your own feed aggregators…

…sorry about that.

But I’m happy the post is no longer a ghost and I don’t have to rewrite it from scratch.

Feedly… you win.
Big, epic, tiger-blooded win.
