Chipmunk…

The Great White Mouse Hunter has made his first kill of the season. It was neither the expected nor desired outcome. And it wasn’t a mouse.

A chipmunk, a critter I generally adore because they’re so darned cute and make me reminisce about Chip & Dale, was making a burrow in our front entry rock garden.

Normally, I’m fine with that. Let them be. They’re not doing anything but living.

This one pushed things a little far.

It kept scattering gravel all over our front walkway. Then it started making the entry to its burrow so large that it was threatening to take out our power supply stake.

So I started kicking the rocks back in. It dug the, back out. Each time it did, it made the entry larger and larger.

I got pissed. So I poured a couple gallons of water into the hole and then kicked the rocks back in. It’s been a week now and that burrow has not been re-dug. I assume there’s a tiny four-legged skeleton under my rock garden.

An interesting box of Reese’s Puffs caught my eye on the shelf at Walmart. Angel Reese on Reese’s Puffs? Oh heck yeah! It’s a match made in marketing heaven. I absolutely love seeing more sponsorship dollars going to WNBA players....
