Skyhigh…

Katie and I were at Costco today when I came across one of the Costco sample ladies. Nice elderly woman serving up chocolate milk samples. Her eyes were scrunched a bit as she stared at me.

“Hi?” I said.

“I’m sorry,” she said. “I was trying to get a better view of your hat. I saw blue, white, and yellow and thought you were wearing my Golden State Warriors.”

“Nope, sorry, Chicago Sky… WNBA.”

“A man wearing a WNBA hat? That’s awesome!”

“Those women are amazing. They make basketball fun. I don’t even like men’s basketball and these women have me liking the sport again.”

“I think that’s really cool. I’m a California girl through and through. I love my Warriors.”

“Well, you know Golden State is getting a WNBA team next year,” I said. “The Valkyries will be playing in Sacramento next season.”

“I will have to watch!” she wrapped up.

Sometimes people can be really cool. The chocolate milk was pretty good, too.
