Cooklist
One thing that makes me very very different than many of my friends and coworkers who work remotely is that I very rarely play music aloud when I’m working.
Back in my in-office days, I did this regularly. I really don’t know what changed, but something did.
Honestly, I listen to music when I’m driving and sometimes when I work out and that’s about it. As much as I profess to loving music, that’s the extent of my regular listening schedule.
Tonight, though, when I started making our Friday night pizza, I decided to continue playing my personal Spotify playlist – appropriately named “Old Man River” – that I has started when I ran some errands earlier today.
So here I am rolling out pizza and breadsticks while Spotify engaged me with:
In case the image doesn’t show up…
- John Newman “Love Me Again”
- No Small Children “Laisse Tomber Les Filles”
- Tegan and Sara “Closer”
- Wipers “When It’s Over”
- Drivin N Cryin “Fly Me Courageous”
- Jet “Cold Hard Bitch”
- Future Islands “Seasons (Waiting On You)”
- Guns N’ Roses “You Could Be Mine”
- Buzzcocks “…Ever Fallen In Love (With Someone You Shouldn’t’ve)”
It was… game changing! I was dancing while cooking. I’ve never done that and y’all certainly don’t need to see it. Every single song was perfect for my mood.
Maybe I should try listening again while working. If I do that, I’m gonna have to beef up my playlist and really start to pay attention to more new releases so I don’t get tired of my music.
