Cooklist

One thing that makes me very very different than many of my friends and coworkers who work remotely is that I very rarely play music aloud when I’m working.

Back in my in-office days, I did this regularly. I really don’t know what changed, but something did.

Honestly, I listen to music when I’m driving and sometimes when I work out and that’s about it. As much as I profess to loving music, that’s the extent of my regular listening schedule.

Tonight, though, when I started making our Friday night pizza, I decided to continue playing my personal Spotify playlist – appropriately named “Old Man River” – that I has started when I ran some errands earlier today.

So here I am rolling out pizza and breadsticks while Spotify engaged me with:

In case the image doesn’t show up…

  1. John Newman “Love Me Again”
  2. No Small Children “Laisse Tomber Les Filles”
  3. Tegan and Sara “Closer”
  4. Wipers “When It’s Over”
  5. Drivin N Cryin “Fly Me Courageous”
  6. Jet “Cold Hard Bitch”
  7. Future Islands “Seasons (Waiting On You)”
  8. Guns N’ Roses “You Could Be Mine”
  9. Buzzcocks “…Ever Fallen In Love (With Someone You Shouldn’t’ve)”

It was… game changing! I was dancing while cooking. I’ve never done that and y’all certainly don’t need to see it. Every single song was perfect for my mood.

Maybe I should try listening again while working. If I do that, I’m gonna have to beef up my playlist and really start to pay attention to more new releases so I don’t get tired of my music.
