Glasses
I woke up this morning with one of those eyeball headaches and decided to wear my glasses. Apparently I don’t do that often because I was on a video call with coworkers and at least three of them expressed abject shock at seeing me in glasses.
These are also brand new glasses that I got last month with some of my leftover FSA funds and they’re made by, get this, Ferrari.
Yup. The sports car maker does glasses now, it would seem.
I decided to jokingly brag about them and showed the logo on my camera and said these are the closest I will ever come to owning a Ferrari.
One of the developers in my team said, “Oh, you’ll be working extra fast now, won’t you?”
I laughed and replied, “Yeah, but my fuel efficiency will be for shit.”
That got some laughs.
For the better part of the last 12 years, I have to wear prescription reading glasses. I am on my 3rd pair and it takes at least 2 months for my eyes to adjust to the updated prescription.

That’s a rough adjustment period. Sorry to hear.

I'm also part of the old man eyes club. I used to have cheapo reading glasses but then figured I should probably get my eyes tested. So now I have progressives. And let me tell you those take a long time to get adjusted to. Different areas of the lens for close up reading, computer screen, and then distance.

I’m not sure I could do that.
