Bayformers
Did I ever tell you about the time that Dave2 and I accidentally stumbled upon a movie set that was actively filming?
I didn’t?
Well, check these out!
It was July 31, 2010 and Dave and I were wandering east toward Michigan Avenue from around the train stations. We looked up State Street and saw this…
We had no idea what it was so being the camera geeks we are, we broke out our cameras and snapped some shots.
As it turned out, it was one of many scenes shot in Chicago for Transformers: Dark of the Moon.
The guy in the dark gray suit on top of the rubble in all the shots is none other than Grey’s Anatomy’s Patrick Dempsey filming a fight scene that would become this…
(not my photo)
I think it’s pretty cool even if the film was less than spectacular.
Why am I mentioning this now? Nate and I have been digging these little Blokee Transformers buildable action figure model kits
and we’ve started watching the Michael Bay movies as a result. I mean the original five since we’ve already seen Bumblebee and Rise of the Beasts. All that just made me think about this so I dug back through Flickr to find the shots.
It was really cool.
Great write up. That is so cool. Now next time I watch the movie and see that scene, I will know you and Dave were there to see it being made.

It’ll be cool for me to see it in the film again, too!

And just around the corner? They were filming “GoBots: The Bright Side of The Sun!” No lie!

That was a damn fine film. So happy the series is still going strong. Gobots 17 is due out this summer.
