Hackman
It was bad enough that Gene Hackman died despite having lived a very full and accomplished life, but that he was found dead in his house along with his wife Betsy Arakawa’s dead body as well as one of their dogs?
Then to find out that Arakawa contracted hantavirus from a rodent and died upwards of a week before Hackman. He likely had no clue she was even dead because his own advanced Alzheimer’s may have left him unaware of anything happening to him.
It’s all so horrifically sad. No one deserves to have this happen to them.
Rest in Peace, Mr. Hackman and Ms. Arakawa.
Yeah, how terrible is all that? My goodness will he ever be missed. What a body of work.

Incredible legacy, indeed.

This was such a blow. I mean, he did live to be 95, but how we went out was so unexpected.

I think the surprising thing to me was that he’d been removed from Hollywood for so long and actually stuck to it. Most acting “retirees” come back at least once or twice.
