Fathers
How sad is it that I didn’t even know today was Father’s Day until just this past Friday when Katie and Nate announced they were going out to buy me a gift and I had to ask when it was.
Whoops.
So what did I get? A new pair of Beats Solo 4 on-ear headphones and I love them.
They sound incredible and they’re crazy comfortable and, to my surprise, they have a built-in microphone so I can use them for work calls. They also fold up and have a zippered case that has pouches for cables.
What happened to my AirPods Pro? Nothing really. They still work… for the most part. But in my right pod I get a crunching sound when I move my head or my jaw. Plus they either will no longer properly connect to my laptop for calls or they connect and sound terrible as others have told me.
That last bit isn’t a big deal during the regular year because I’ll take calls aloud when I’m the only one home. But with Nate home for the summer, a little call privacy is nice.
So I’m trying these out. I’m also letting Nate try them to see if he likes them. We shall see.
Awesome gift. I have a pair of Solo 4 in blue. And I don't even miss the fact they don't have ANC.
I should do a headphones blog post.

Yeah, they don’t *need* ANC like AirPods do but it would be cool to be able to talk and listen with them still on. I did have an issue yesterday where I got a call while listening to a podcast and I clicked over but they couldn’t hear me talking. Not sure what happened there but that seems to happen with any Bluetooth headphones these days.

So far, my Beats Solo 4 have been amazing. Sound is great. Phone calls have been clear and they are very comfortable on my ears. Not sure on the battery life. I tend to charge them every 3rd day - they get a few hours of use each day.

I don’t use them quite that long but mostly daily to some degree and I charged them two days ago for the first time since charging fully after first receiving them. So one charge in three weeks? Feels like it’s been longer though.
