Hard
Have you heard of this film Bride Hard starring Rebel Wilson and Anna Camp, both of Pitch Perfect fame? It would be no fault of yours if you haven’t. Lemme tell ya why.
Katie and a friend go to movies together every so often. They just find a time and pick something to see. Well, the theaters haven’t exactly been rife with new and good stuff despite this being the summer season. I don’t know what’s going on but you’d swear this is September or February with how dead it is.
On Thursday night of this week, they decided they would go see Bride Hard. They thought it sounded cheesy enough and started some people they generally like, so why not?
Katie just looked up the available times on Thursday. Two of our three local theaters are not showing it at all. The third theater has two showtimes – 11:20 a.m. and 1:40 p.m. Not exactly prime movie going times.
On Friday, it’s showing at 9 p.m. and that’s it.
This sounds like a movie that has already hit about a month or two old and is on its way out, doesn’t it?
It came out LAST FRIDAY!
I started digging into the data… it had a production budget of US$20M and an overall budget of US$80M.
In its first and only weekend so far, it earned US$930,000. That’s thousands. Not millions, but thousands.
Its Rotten Tomatoes scores are like 13% and 54% and I’m truly shocked the latter (audience) is as high as it is.
Now Katie really wants to see it. She wants to see how bad it is. I told her if she does, she might be the ticket that pushes the film over the $1M mark.
Or maybe not.
I saw something about it last week. Looks like it should be funny.

Not to dissuade you from going but Katie said it was bad. Really bad.
