Once again, I deviated from the plan. At least half of it. Makes you wonder if I should just say “I’m going to read three books and three graphic novels” instead of listing the specific titles. But then part of me is worried the lack of specificity might make me lazier about fulfilling the goal. Hmmm…
In June, I planned to read:
- Irvine Welsh’s Trainspotting
- Patrick Barb’s Night of the Witch-Hunter (Killer VHS Series, book 6)
- Ray Bradbury’s The Martian Chronicles
- Chris Claremont’s Big Hero 6, vol. 1
- Budjette Tan’s Trese, vol. 1: Murder on Balete Drive
- Mike Carey and Simon Spurrier’s X-Men: Age of X
And I ended up finishing, in order:
- Patrick Barb’s Night of the Witch-Hunter
- Ray Bradbury’s The Martian Chronicles
- Budjette Tan’s Trese, vol. 1: Murder on Balete Drive
- Margie Sarsfield’s Beta Vulgaris
- Geoff John’s Tales of the Unnamed: The Blizzard
- Jeff Lemire’s Minor Arcana, vol. 1: The Fool
I did wind up reading Big Hero 6, vol. 1, but discovered that, while it was tagged as being a “volume,” it was actually just a single issue and I don’t count those as a full-book read.
My reads for July will be:
- Hannah Deitch’s Killer Potential
- Philip K. Dick’s Flow My Tears, The Policeman Said
- Edgar Wallace and Merian G. Cooper’s King Kong
- Garth Ennis’ Preacher, vol. 1
- Mark Spears’ Return of the Living Dead, issues 1-4
- Emilia Clarke’s MOM: Mother of Madness
Let’s see how I do!
