TIL: Sizing
Today I learned that Extra Small does not mean smaller than Small. It actually means, if pricing is any indication, something more along the lines of Small+, but not quite Medium.
This lesson in economics comes to you via the McDonald’s mobile app…
A Small Coke is $1.19. Okay, I’m with ya so far.
A Medium is $1.59. Still logical.
And a Large is $1.89. Yup, I hear ya loud and clear.
But wait. An Extra Small is $0.10 more than a Small while containing 40 less calories? I’m paying more for less??
And why is it listed to the far right of the sizing progression? The first time I saw it, I assumed from the E and its placement farther out from Large that it was Extra Large. Yes, I did see the name below, but, yanno, logic.
WTF, McD’s??
The size and pricing is crazy.

I miss 0.99 any size. Completely irrational but soooo worth it.
