I tried. I really and truly tried to get into Lauren Oyler’s Fake Accounts. Honestly! I did!
Another month come and gone. That’s 1/4 of the year done already. Wow! And that's no April Fools!
I actually did pretty good on my reading this past month. Buckle up!
Ugh, February sucked. Snow, sub-zero temps, snow, and more snow. The bad thing was, it never warmed up until the end of the month so all the snow, while not huge amounts during each event, accumulated to 4-6+ foot tall piles that wouldn’t go anywhere except up. Gonna be a messy spring.
As we close in on the end of this abbreviated month, let’s see how my reading goal progressed!
Wow! Whadda January. One for the books, fo sho! Time to move past the headlines and see how I did with goals.
It’s the last day of the month, so that means it’s time to review my book reading and set my goal books for the next month!
Hey, look at that! A reset of the numbering of my Libroqueue posts for a new year. Let’s see what I’m going to read in January.
I saw a news interview with a psychologist who said, while it’s nice to remain optimistic about the prospects for 2021, don’t go nuts. Keep your expectations reined in a bit.
Happy New Year, y’all! I hope 2021 is better to all of you. But as of a half hour ago, COVID-19 is still here, so...
I was about to preface this post by saying it might be the final Libroqueue post of 2020, but, now that I think about it, it may not be. We'll have to wait and see how hard up I get for content this holiday break.
I feel like I'm writing these monthly goal recaps every week. Does it feel like you're reading them here with a similar frequency? Ridiculous light speed year that is 2020.
I knew nine books would be a stretch. BIIIIGGGGGG stretch. As of today, I'm only through five of them. Oddly, not the five you might expect. Here's the list of what I planned to read:
Some hits. Some misses. Ah, such is October 2020.
Time to pick out some books to read in November. I’m going to try to keep the reading rate up from my average of four. Because... why not?
This month has kinda gotten away from me in more ways than one. I guess that's me explaining why my mid-month and end-of-month Libroqueue posts may both be happening in short order. But, then again, this month didn't necessarily go as planned in terms of my monthly reading goal.
Katie gave me my anniversary gift today. It's an Amazon Fire HD 8+ (2020 model year) tablet.
Help me! I'm stuck in a whirly swirly vortex of time lost! September is already over? WTF???
I did it! I did it! I put together a list of books I wanted to read in the month of September, checked on my progress halfway through, and finished it today! With three days left in the month. And my overall goal is now back on track!
At the beginning of the month, in order to get back in track with reading and hit my monthly goal, I listed five books I planned to start and finish this month.
I’m still kinda upset with myself for falling under my reading goal last month. I know I’m only one book shy but I’ll be damned if I let that be the first toppled domino.
It was... August.
I’d reckon July was a decent month in terms of goal work. Check it out!
Time keeps on slippin' (slippin' slippin') into the future.
Hmm, that would make for a great chorus to a song. I should write that down. In the meantime, how about a review of my goals in June.
What a month. What a helluva month. I wish I could say, "Thank God it's over," but I have zero assurance that June will be any better. So... goals, then?
So much done, so much still to do. Let’s recap my goal achievements in April, shall we?
Are you enjoying shelter at home? Going a little nuts? Well, I've got some reading you can do right here to take your mind off the tedium. Or maybe it will just worsen things for you. Oh well. It's written. It's below.
Another month has come and gone. Let’s see how my goal achievement has proceeded.
Remember how I said I hit a wall with reading last year and it persisted through last month with me only getting one book read to start the year? Well, here’s the visual proof of that wall (at least in terms of audiobooks)...
How in the name of all that's holy is January 2020 already done? And we don't have flying cars yet? Or HAL? Or the robot apocalypse? WTF??
Finally. My last goal update for 2019!
I started 2019 off pretty strong on the goal front. But the further I progressed through the year, the tougher it got and the less interested I became in fulfilling some of them.
November... what a crap month for goals.
Whoops. Completely forgot yesterday was the first of November. So, yeah, this is a day late. Won’t happen again. Oh, who am I kidding? Yes, it will.
Just as I feared might happen, my phone repairs are not done and I have no access to Instagram, which is the key to me being able to post Macro Monday. So, instead, you will be getting my September Goals a day early. Actually, it's only a few hours early, technically.
