Currently, Nathan’s iPad and all his apps are registered in my name. At first, the reason for this was simplicity. It was just so much easier to get everything signed up and initialized by not creating new accounts from scratch.

If this were any other year, this coming weekend would be marked with several trips to our local pool of which we’ve been members for four or five years now. 

Apparently, on this day eight years ago, I was really into doing Halftone cartoons featuring a LEGO Gollum. Can’t imagine why. Especially since I’ve barely even looked at it since that time. Weird. 

Tonight was the reunion of the cast of Parks and Recreation for a charity special. Preceding that special was a clip show sponsored by the Paley Center.

About this time five years ago, we tore up all the carpeting and entry tile and installed new flooring. Let’s go on a tour, shall we?

A few years ago, I got into a photo filter app called Prisma. I used it a bunch of times to give some photos a painting feel. I loved it.

Nathan brought this to me the other day. I had no idea he had it. He wanted me to have it back because he knew it was mine when I was a kid. 

Ten years ago today, I was in the midst of a Photo365 Challenge. One photo every day for a full year. I’m not sure if I finished it or not. I should really check into that.

Because I’m still not 100%, I’ve been working from home all week. This allows me the ability to play movies in the background while I work. 

Tomorrow marks 10 years since my brother and I graduated from the City of Naperville (IL) Citizen Fire Academy. It was a very cool, multi-week introduction to life as a firefighter.

I’ve always loved the attitude that Nathan us on full display in this photo from three years ago today wearing the wig that would become part of his Halloween costume later in the month.

It’s kinda amazing how far toys have come since I was a kid. 

Okay, it’s not a very far Throwback — more like a bit of a Tossback — as these photos are only from last Thursday and a family trip we took to Medieval Times in Schaumburg, IL. 

We went to the pool tonight to celebrate Christmas in July. Yes, they had a Santa and elves and reindeer and games and Christmas music and all that jazz. 

As it’s both Independence Day here in the U.S. and a throwback Thursday, how about a couple old photos of Nathan and me from pat fireworks parties? I was hoping I had one of all three of us, but I don’t. Hmm...

Seeing as how Nathan is a full-fledged "little man" now and trying to get him to smile for the camera is like that episode of Friends with Chandler completely incapable of smiling for his engagement photos, I thought it might be nice to reflect back on Nathan's very first smile.

Seeing as how tomorrow is his last day as a Kindergartener, it seemed appropriate to spend this Throwback Thursday wishing this year didn’t go by so quickly.

I ran out of cloud storage space in Dropbox years ago. The curse of low capacity and the unwillingness to pay for added space. So I don’t really go in the app much as a result.

We re-arranged our entertainment cabinet at home and, afterward, while sitting in the couch, the ever familiar dock connector end was shining out at me like a beacon. 

Earlier this week marked the eighth birthday of my Hyundai Sonata.

Seven years ago, I was in line for my pretzel bagel and coffee at an Einstein’s Bagels when I saw a guy playing a banjo at another table. 

Tonight, I’m throwing back five years to a family party at the house of one of Katie’s aunts and uncles. At this party, Nathan and his cousin Ava decided to take a turn at the piano. 

I’m not sure how I came up with this idea but I thought a cool Throwback Thursday would be a look back at some of my earliest Macro Monday posts.

This past weekend, we took Nathan to the Polar Express as we have the previous three years. But going to this event made me reminisce about past Christmases and how Nathan has aged in that time. 

No, not snowflake in the insipid “liberal snowflake!” sense of it all. I mean it a bit more ornamentally. Like, me at about age five. In a snowflake ornament that has seen better days.
