Duke 2…
Remember the Tiger Force Duke redesign project? It has started. It’s slower than I’d like, but I hope that means the end product will be quality.

Oh. My. Gods. Star Wars: Outlaws looks like such an amazing game! I want to play it so badly!!
I’m delving into full-on modding of an action figure. It’s okay. It’s a figure I don’t really like of a character that always kinda annoyed me.
If you were sitting there reading a book and you saw this peering out at you, would you find it adorable or threatening?

Nate and I went to the Chicago Toy Show at the Kane County Fairgrounds near our house today for their summer show. It was our first time attending the summer edition as we prefer the weather in the spring and fall, but we had C2E2 in the spring and we will likely miss fall for other reasons.
Not sure how many of you follow my toy photography, but every month that we have a Friday the 13th (at least for the last two or so years), I’ve run an event called “A Week of Victims.”
You’re broken, bruised, battered, and you’ve been discarded on the side of the road.
I just had a dust up with a fellow toy collector about women and minorities and their representation in toy lines and I just can’t this was too much.

I’m truly sorry this is coming so late in the game, but Happy Pride Month, y’all!
In addition to the Hobie head I have to paint for Nate, I received a couple blank head prints from my toy photog buddy Charley that I’m looking forward to trying my hand at…

Time to start a project I promised to do for Nate nearly a year ago.
On these annual company business trips that I just wrapped yesterday, we do a big group activity on the workday where we split into teams and play along with some fictional storyline that is developed by an outside company intended to promote team building.
A week or so ago, I re-upped Sirius/XM for Katie for Mother’s Day.
Nate and his buddy Mason got together for a Nerf war today. And they dragged in a few other neighborhood kids, one of whom has never owned a Nerf gun in her life. So Nate gave her one to keep.
Every once in a while, you have to recharge your creative batteries and step away from the serious effects-laden photos and do something simple… and cute… and fun.

Here is a photo (or two) of your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man going through some post editing.
FINALLY!! A high-quality figure of Hammerhead (currently known as Momaw Nadon) from the original Star Wars (currently known as Episode IV - A New Hope)!

Just a quick step-by-step process of a photo I created today that will be posted next weekend.
Kevin’s Brick Garage is expanding! 11 LEGO Speed Champions with two waiting in the wings to be built.
This new Live Voicemail feature on iOS is trippy. To be honest, I completely forgot it existed until today when I decided I didn’t want to answer a call, ignored it, and then watched as the voicemail they were leaving was transcribed (poorly) right before my eyes.

First, it’s the Mighty Con-sponsored DuPage Comic Con on March 2.
With its official prediction of “RED TEAM,” Henrietta the Prehistoric Rooster is now 1-0 on calling sports games.
You’ve gotta understand one thing… Nathan hates E.T. The Extra Terrestrial. Hates. He was freaked out by the character the first and only time he saw the movie with us and has since refused to watch it again. Flat out refuses.
Oh man, was I jazzed tonight!
Last weekend, I did an action figure re-creation of this cover of Jason Aaron’s Marvel Star Wars #14.
I was playing around with the LensFX app trying to create a “working” head lamp on my Harlego-Davidson Fat Boy. I like how it turned out.
This is the Target-exclusive Jamie Tartt Funko POP statue from the Apple TV+ series Ted Lasso.
Lately, Nathan and I have been toeing the waters of toy swaps. Literally, we’ve been taking some of the toys we don’t want anymore or maybe never cared about at all (obtained through contest wins or the like) and have been trying to set up trades with other toy collectors.
As I enjoyed detailing what I did yesterday and again have nothing else to say, I’m going to detail a second visual effects job I did on a toy photo I took.
Just taking a moment to highlight a photo editing job I did for my hobby account. I’m pretty happy with how it turned out.
I am so ridiculously proud of Nate for the photo he took today. This is the finished shot, post editing…
Throughout this past week, I ran yet another round of A Week of Victims on my hobby IG account in celebration of Friday the 13th. In case you need a reminder, this is when I take Jason Voorhees toys and have them menace other toys for fun.
Nothing quite so much fun as finding a killer deal in a store.

It doesn’t happen often, but once in a while, I find myself with the time and creativity to put a little extra effort into my toy photography.
This past weekend, my mom brought me my old Fisher Price Little People castle. At least I think it was my old one from when my brother and I grew up. Actually, on second thought, I think my mom re-purchased some Fisher Price swag when our kids were born so they'd have some fun stuff to play with at hers and my dad's house.

I love Nathan. Really. Truly. The kid cracks me up. Sometimes it’s intentional on his part. Sometimes it’s by pure accident.
